Executive Coaching:

Nick Watson MA (Oxon)

I am a certified executive coach who specialises in supporting high-performing individuals dealing with challenging obstacles, transition and change, especially in cross-cultural environments.

Finding direction in transition

I am a particularly good fit for individuals or groups who want to explore their strengths and realise their potential, whether in existing roles or through considering more radical, ambitious development, such as changes of job, career or sector. Notable examples include the transition from public to private sector, or living and working overseas.

Trust, awareness, challenge

My approach to coaching is centred on active listening and partnering to establish a safe, confidential space within which to reflect and develop self-awareness. Building on this foundation of trust, I provide sympathetic but incisive challenge to stimulate solutions and ways forward. Clients describe working with me as calm, engaging, thought-provoking and enabling clarity.

Building on public and private sector experience

My background includes both government and private sector, first as a diplomat specialising in intelligence and security and serving mostly in difficult environments, then as a professional services consultant and adviser to leading global businesses and latterly as director of several small businesses. Over a varied 25-year career, this has given me extensive experience of coaching and mentoring, in a variety of countries and cultures. I also sit pro bono on a number of educational bodies including the Council of the University of Sussex.
